| Headache
Headache is one of the common symptoms that
can be related to nerve vessel blood pressure.
In general, many patients suffer from chronic headache or
migraine, which is caused by the disorder of nerves and vessels
except for in a few serious diseases like cancer.
The headache can occur either periodically or
occasionally. For some female patients, hormone levels may
affect the symptom. Other reasons for headaches include stress,
tiredness, an old injury and change in the weather.
In Chinese medical theory, there are different
types of headache, according to the reason for it. These include:
Wind (wind-cold, wind-heat and wind-damp); Blood stagnation;
Liver fire; Qi vacuity as well as Kidney Yin vacuity. The
liver, kidney and spleen are the main organs involved. Different
activities such as hard mental work, stress, a change in the
weather or old injuries can affect the Qi and Blood function,
slow down the flow of Qi and Blood, and then block the liver
and kidney meridian channels in the head area – thus causing
the headache.
Therefore blockage of meridian channels is the
basic explanation for headaches in traditional Chinese medicine
theory.
Headache can be treated by Acupuncture and traditional
Chinese medicine. Acupuncture works on meridian channels stimulating
the flow of Qi and Blood to unclog the meridian channels.
By choosing the proper herbal medicine formula to improve
Qi and Blood flow, strengthening spleen or kidney Qi, getting
rid of wind and damp and dropping liver fire, the body can
resume its balance and the headache can be relieved too.
